Detmold, Germany, is possibly my favorite place in the world. For several reasons:
Aesthetic: It's scenic and beautiful, with a charming small town and castle that makes you feel like you're in a fairy tale.
Location: It's close to many wonderful attractions, such as the Hermann Monument and the Schloss Detmold (Detmold Castle).
People: For me, it's the people. Detmold is home to some of the kindest and most hospitable people I know. I've been there twice and was welcomed with open arms each time. Life long friendships that I can't wait to visit again.
I'm happy to say that Detmold feels like a second home to me, and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Germany.
