"Dogs are a huge part of our world, but we're their whole world."
-Theresa Saccone.
If you're a dog owner like me, then this quote rocked you to your core. The amount of love that can come from a creature is truly baffling. Not a day goes by that I don't give Lamby a kiss and a belly scratch. Cause she's the best. I love her, and she loves me. When I think about her life, she exists to please Amy and me. That's wild. Oh, and she also exists to be fed. Dogs love food. Especially Lamby.
Lamby has a fantastic routine that revolves entirely around my schedule. If she wants to eat, she needs my help. If she wants to go to the bathroom, she needs my help. If she wants to go for a walk, she needs me to get off my lazy butt and take her outside. But the humbling part is that she really doesn't need me for any of these activities. She could raid the pantry or eat the pillows. She could pee on the rug or poop on the couch. She could do laps around the kitchen table if she wanted to get creative with her exercise. But the fact remains she wants my help. She wants to please me by eating what I get her. She wants to do her business outside cause I taught her that it makes me happy. And she wants us all as a family to go for a walk, or she has no interest. I love the way she loves. If we're not in her world, she wants nothing to do with the day.
Let's not take our little (or big) pooches for granted, they depend on us, but more than that, they want to be with us, all day, every day. God bless those little hounds, everyone.
