We've all had those days. Times when the last thing we want to do is get out of bed, let alone go to work. But for dog owners (the majority), the second we wake up, we're greeted with love and affection.
And demands.
It's the best way to start the day.
Our dog Lamby loves to crawl on top of us and roll upside down, expecting a belly rub before anything else. Once she's had her fill, it's time to fill her tummy. And she will stare us dead in the eye until she has had her treat and her meal. After that, it's off to the sand for some business, then back upstairs to sleep the day away.
It's a dream routine.
But then we face the world, and saying goodbye each day is devastating. I wish I could make them understand that we don't want to leave them. They just don't get it.
Then life gets real and beats us up from time to time. But thank God we have our little ones to greet us like we are royalty every time we get home. They add more joy than I can put to paper.
They're the world's best greeters.
